Wanda Jean Watkins

Wanda Jean Watkins, 77, of Oak Hill, West Virginia, passed away on May 20, 2026, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Born May 1, 1949, in Lochgelly, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Edna Robinson.

Wanda worked in the Fayette County school system for years, she enjoyed helping others, especially special needs children whom she worked with. The kids called her “MawMaw”. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and going to church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray Robinson, Junior Robinson, Henry Robinson, and sister, Joan Osborne.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her husband of 58 years, Dale Watkins; sons, Dale Watkins Jr and Henry (Lori) Watkins; grandchildren, Savannah (Woody) Schmitz, Caitlin Watkins, Bryce Watkins, McKenzie Snuffer; great-grandchilden, Elsie, Maxlie, Kobie,and Bodie Schmitz; a special “adopted grandson”, Nathan Galeana; her forever fur baby, “Buddy” ; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Hospice of Southern West Virginia for the exceptional care they provided for Wanda and our family.

A private graveside rites with burial to follow will be held at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia or Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle Church in Oak Hill.
