Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Walker, 61, of Charlton Heights, West Virginia, entered into rest on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, West Virginia.
Born on November 29, 1963, he was the son of the late George H. Walker and the late Audrey Adkins Walker Martin. Ronnie grew up in Gauley Bridge and was a proud graduate of Gauley Bridge High School, Class of 1982.
He, with his wife, Mary Kay, owned and operated The Walker Insurance Agency, faithfully serving his community with offices in both, Oak Hill and Charlton Heights.
Ronnie was a passionate sports fan who enjoyed cheering on the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Pirates, and West Virginia Mountaineers. He enjoyed coaching Kanawha Central Girls Softball, of which his granddaughters were both team members.
Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and the countless friendships he built over the years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Walker Thacker, and her husband, William (Bill) Thacker, and Anna Walker Kyle; brother-in-law, Steven Smith; and father-in-law, Jim “Doc” Harrah.
Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife of 29 years, Mary Kay Harrah Walker; daughter, Britney Walker Hanshaw (Travis) of Charlton Heights; son, Derek Walker (Mindy) of Daniels; his treasured granddaughters, Aly and Lexi Hanshaw; sister, Connie Walker Smith of Charlotte, NC; brother-in-law, Gary Kyle of Valley City, OH; mother-in-law, Stephanie Parsons Harrah of Oak Hill, WV; brothers-in-law, Scatt Harrah (Redawna) and James G. (Jimmy) Harrah (Rachel) of Fayetteville, WV; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends throughout Gauley Bridge, Fayette County, and beyond.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, August 15, 2025, at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill, WV with Pastor Greg Swisher officiating. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the service at High Lawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, it is the family’s wish that consideration for donations be given to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.
