Robert Richard "Bobby" Beavers

Robert Richard "Bobby" Beavers, age 84, of War, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, West Virginia. Born April 8, 1928, in Swords Creek, Virginia, he was the son of Greene Dooley and Virgie Lilac Newberry Beavers. He was a resident of War the greater part of his life. He attended Big Creek High School and joined the Merchant Marines, where he served for 17 years. He worked as a Mason in Ohio, he was a retired coal miner, electrician, for Consol Fuel, Hawley Mines and Olga Coal Company and he was a member of the U.M.W.A. He loved gardening, loved music, playing music and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by in addition to his parents; one son, Ricky Beavers and one grandson, Robert L. Beavers. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Rose Ann Beavers of War; one son, Robert G. Beavers and daughter-in-law, Pam Beavers of War; one daughter, Carrie Bledsoe and son-in-law, Larry Bledsoe of Oak Hill; and another daughter-in-law, Sherry Beavers of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Candice and Justin Beavers both of War, Heather and Derrick Beavers both of Hickory, NC; great grandchildren, Justin Beavers, Gaven Beavers and Alia Short all of War. Following the wishes of the deceased the body has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be conducted Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 7 P.M. for family and friends at the Berwind Lake in Berwind, WV with Frank Nash, officiating.
