Lewis Franklin Shockey Jr.

Lewis Franklin Shockey Jr., 77, of Fayetteville, West Virginia passed away, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at home with his wife, Nina, and son, Justin, at his side with Hospice Care. Lewis was born on January 2, 1948, in Fayetteville to the late Lewis F. Shockey Sr. and Audie Treadway.

Lewis was a truck driver starting at Epperly Motor Freight (1964) in Fayetteville moving to Smith Transfer in Beckley. He started Fayette Paving and Excavation, operating it until he retired. He said, “If I didn’t pave your driveway, I did the one beside you.”

Lewis (Frank) was a member of Emmanual Baptist in Fayette Heights.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Shockey Sr. and Audie Treadway Spangler.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Nina Fankell Shockey; children, Lisa Schoolcraft (Pat), Jon Paul Shockey (Joy), and Justin Shockey (Becky); grandchildren, Ryan Schoolcraft (Kristin), Zach Schoolcraft, Savannah Ruck (Joe), Brody, Landen, Jaxson Abraham, and Ezekiel Shockey; great-grandchildren, Madisyn and Sammy Schoolcraft, sister-in-law, Mary Sue Fankell; and extended family members.

Celebration of his life will be at 2 PM, Monday, May 5, 2025, at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill, with his children Lisa, Jon Paul, and Justin leading the service. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park with Josh Anderson officiating.

Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the service, Monday, May 5, 2025, at High Lawn Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be family members with Ezekiel Shockey as an honorary bearer.
