Kathy Sue Lucas

Kathy Sue Lucas, 75, of Oak Hill, West Virginia passed away, Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Raleigh General Hospital. Kathy was born on May 15, 1950, at Harvey, West Virginia to the late Ralph and Geneva Elmore Samples.

Kathy was retired from the WV Department of Environmental Protection. She had also been a member of the Mt. Hope Lion’s Club.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James Lucas.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, James “JC” Lucas, and his wife, Terrie, of Virginia; a daughter, Kelly Jenkins, and her husband, Kevin, of Pratt; sister, Tammy Smith, of Aiken, South Carolina; a brother, Rick Samples, of Beckley; and her grandchildren, Samantha, Melissa, and Katelynn Lucas.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Bill Gilman officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
