Edward T Kiliany

Edward T. Kiliany, 83, of Fayetteville, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Bowers Hospice House. After a long battle of multiple illnesses, he is now at peace. He was born on February 2, 1943, in Rochester, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Edward B. and Irene (Secosky) Kiliany.

After graduating from Youngstown University with dual degrees in Business Management and Finance, Ed served with the Pittsburgh Medical Air Lift Team, which transported wounded soldiers throughout the US during Vietnam.

Ed began a diverse and successful career that led him into the automotive industry, the medical field, and ultimately to McDonald’s, where he established the first restaurant in Oak Hill in 1981. His first business opportunity led him into the medical field with US Surgical Corporation, which brought stapling into the world of surgery. He later became a McDonald’s Owner/Operator of eight restaurants and retired after a prosperous 38 years.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and Regis Kiliany (wife, Anna Mary).

Those left to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Penny; two children, Christopher (Laura) Kiliany of Fayetteville and Erin Kiliane of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Landon and Tripton Kiliany, whom he adored, and many other family members.

The family sincerely would like to thank Ed’s caregivers, Crystal Burgess, Jessy Bonanno, and the staff of the Oak Hill Place for their exceptional care.

Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, July 11, 2026, at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Dr. Father Jojan Joseph officiating.

Friends may call on the family from 11:30 AM until the time of service.

At a later date, Ed’s final resting place will be High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.
