Danise Crookshanks Boggs Obituary
In Loving Memory of Danise Crookshanks Boggs1969 - 2025With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved Danise, age 56, who left this world after a long and courageous battle with multiple health complications, including diabetes, kidney disease, and heart disease. She passed away knowing she was deeply loved and never forgotten by those who stood by her side through every chapter of her life.Danise lived with fierce independence and an unapologetic spirit. She never made excuses and always owned her story, boldly and honestly. She lived fast, loved deeply, and never held back-whether she was cracking a joke that left you laughing through tears, delivering a brutally honest opinion, or wrapping you in one of the most sincere acts of kindness you'd ever receive. She was wild, funny, sweet, and heartbreakingly honest all at once. Her heart never fully healed from the devastating loss of her son, Marcus, in 2021. She mourned him every day and longed to be reunited with him in Heaven. In her final months, that longing gave way to peace. In a quiet and sacred moment during a visit from a preacher, she listened intently to his sermon and afterward told her sister Stephanie that she had felt a true connection to the Lord. She said she had been saved-and her family rejoiced in this newfound peace of soul.Shortly after, in classic Danise fashion, she reminded us that transformation takes many forms. When Stephanie accidentally hit her foot with the wheelchair, a loud four-letter word escaped. Stephanie exclaimed, "You just got saved!" and Danise replied without missing a beat, "My soul was, not my mouth!" We are grateful for a merciful and understanding God-and we know He welcomed her with open arms and laughter. She loved fiercely: her mother, Suzy; her sister and best friend, Stephanie; and her faithful dog, Sid. She may have hollered at them with the same intensity she loved them-but God help anyone else who tried. Her loyalty was absolute, and her protectiveness unmatched.During her time in the long-term care facility, Danise became a beacon of humor and affection. She touched the hearts of caregivers and fellow patients alike, winning them over with her wit, her warmth, and that unmistakable spark.Danise leaves behind a legacy of unfiltered love, resilience, and unforgettable memories. She was deeply loved by family and friends near and far-and she knew it. That love will continue to live on, echoing in the laughter, the stories, and the hearts of all who knew her.She is now at peace, reunited with her beloved son, Marcus, and wrapped in the embrace of eternal love. We will miss her always-and remember her forever.Danise was preceded in death by her son, Marcus Folks, her partner, Tim Foley, and her Dad, Dale Crookshanks. She is survived by her loving Mother and stepfather, Suzy and Dexter Bragg, her devoted sister, Stephanie Bowman, her stepmother, Shari Crookshanks, her special Aunt Kathy whose kindness and generosity was felt by Danise throughout her life, aunts, uncles, nephew, cousins, many extended family members, dedicated friend and sister-in-love, Tammy Powers and her dear friend, Bruce Blankenship. Her family would like to thank the staff and her caregivers at Hidden Valley Rehabilitation Facility in Oak Hill.
