Charles Leon Simmons, 73, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, passed away, Friday, June 12, 2026, at his home.
Charles was born on June 24, 1952, in Scarbro, West Virginia, to the late Jams W. Simmons Sr. and Joyce Simmons.
Charles was a retired logistics specialist, NCO, with the rank of Tech Sergeant, proudly serving in the United States Air Force.
After his retirement from the Air Force, he would spend his time sketching and painting. He was an avid gun collector and a Radio Control (R/C) enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Hornsby.
Left to cherish his memory, his wife, Rosita C. Simmons; their three sons, Charles L. Simmons II, Christopher L. Simmons, and Gregorio W. Simmons; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Michael Simmons and James W. Simmons Jr; his sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Alice Parsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill, West Virginia. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Simmons, Chris Simmons, Greg Simmons, Blake Simmons, Shane Simmons, and Elijah Simmons.
